Our Last Day in NYC

We had a wonderful very last day in New York.  We stayed at The Empire Hotel on 63rd and Broadway.  We thought it would be fun to stay in an area different from where we lived.  Something we've always wanted to do was ride the boats from The Boathouse in Central Park.  We tried to get there nice and early to beat the heat, unfortunately it was still very hot.

We witnessed a proposal!!  So exciting!!

We finished our day with having lunch by the pool at our hotel, going to a fun dinner at "Little Owl", a sweet restaurant in Greenwich Village and having a drink at a roof top bar.  It was a great last day!  We are now very excited to go home, see friends and family and start thinking about our life back in CA.

Bye New York, we'll miss you, thank you for the most amazing adventure and such wonderful memories.  Our time here will never be forgotten.

Mini Golf on the Hudson

We decided to go mini golfing on the Hudson River (Pier 25).  It was a beautiful course right on the river, unfortunately I lost to Ryan and had to give him a 10 minute back massage.

We've Loved our Broadway Shows!

Well, we went to our last Broadway show which was Book of Mormon.  We're not saying goodbye to theatre all together but it has been one thing that we've loved so much about New York, even if we can't stand Time's Square.  We throughly enjoyed Book of Mormon, there were a few gasps from me, just because I couldn't believe they said what they said, but I really loved the play overall.  You definitely have to go in with an open mind and know they are going to cross the line many times.  The songs are catchy and it's an overall really great play.  We are happy that we took advantage of Broadway these past two years.

We've seen a total of 12 plays, Ryan and few more (with clients and before I moved).

  • In the Heights
  • Memphis
  • Addam's Family
  • Wicked
  • American Idiot
  • Mary Poppins
  • Rock of Ages
  • Promises, Promises
  • Other Desert Cities
  • Billy Eliot
  • South Pacific
  • Book of Mormon
  • Chicago (Just Ryan)
  • Phantom of the Opera (Just Ryan)

We're Pregnant!!!

We are very excited to announce that we're bringing home a very exciting treasure from NYC.  As many of you know this has been a long road to get to this point but we couldn't be more happy, excited, maybe a bit nervous, to be at this point.  Baby Joy is waving to all of you and says, "See you around December 6th!"

"Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay"

My three lovely teaching partners thew me a going away party.  It was a very touching but fun night.  I truly have loved my job at St. Hilda's and St. Hugh's and it was so wonderful to spend the evening with all the teachers/friends that I've met.
