We took our first bus trip five hours north to visit Pilar (Pilar and I have known each other since Kindergarten), Adam, Zara and Maris in Strafford New Hampshire. When we moved to New York visiting the Prime family was definitely on our list. It so happened that the weekend that we decided to go was during the big hurricane. We felt that is was good that we were getting out of our neighborhood because buildings one block away had a mandatory evacuation. So we thought, if we had to evacuate the best place to be was with good friends. We had a wonderful Saturday where we took their boat out, did a little fishing (Zara caught 4 fish at once), had a good lunch and made it back home just before the rain started. The wind and rain came in full force on Sunday morning so our bus ride home got canceled. We hunkered down and a fun filled day with doing puzzles, playing in a pirate ship and having rooster stew and pork butt sandies. All so delicious!! With no power the Prime's were the people to be with because they had a generator. Thank you Prime family for a wonderful trip, you have an amazing home and loved waiting out the storm with all of you!! xoxo
Ryan moved to NYC for his job December 2009. Heather finished up her school year and wanted to continue to plan their wedding so she moved June of 2010. They got married on April 3rd, 2010, had an amazing wedding but had to say goodbye for two more months. Now Heather finally moved to New York on June 18th, 2010 and they get to feel what it's actually like to be married. Enjoy our adventures in New York, we plan to take advantage of the East Coast and appreciate all it has to offer.

Nantucket
I had the amazing opportunity to go to Nantucket and stay with Cate (We've known each other since Kindergarten), Morgan and Blake for a few days. Cate and Gregg got a house for two weeks and the first week Gregg couldn't be there so I hopped on a plane to spend time with the three of them. For those of you who haven't been Nantucket, like Martha's Vineyard, has such adorable houses, grey and white shingled houses one cuter then the next. Nantucket is smaller than MV and lucky enough, Cate and Gregg got a house walking distance to the main town and a close bike ride away from the beach. So we spent our days riding the bikes around town, taking walks and playing with the kids. I loved my time with all three of them!! Thank you Edell's so much!!

A few checks off the list
This weekend we were able to do some things in the city that we've been meaning to do. We had a fun dinner at this sushi restaurant that my coworker Kylie told me about in the East Village. All the rolls are three dollars on their happy hour menu. After having a delicious meal we walked outside and you wouldn't believe how hard it was raining, with thunder and lighting one minute after the next. We tried to wait it out but still ended up getting pretty wet.
On Saturday we headed accross the Brooklyn Bridge to the flea market. Many people have told us what great things they sell and that their food was delicious. We ended up walking around lusting over the cool furniture that we can't buy and then had probably our best Mexican meal ever in NYC. Many of you know that there isn't any good Mexican food here and this was just a small tent and Mexcians making true authentic food. YUM! We looked to see if there was a restaurant but there wasn't. Booo
Sunday we took the ferry from South Street Seaport which is a 2 minute walk for us, and went to the Met's game. The ferry was filled with excited Met's fans, it took about an hour up the East River. Thanks to Meredith we had great seats. We watched the game for as long as I could handle the heat and then headed back home on the subway.

We got free little backpacks.
Great weekend, check, check and check!

Camp 2011
Well, another amazing year at Fallen Leaf Lake has come and gone. After 25 years I can say that this vacation is always so special for me. Everything was a bit greener, tons of water and all the children were just as adorable as always. I had fun hiking, swimming, kayaking, jumping, relaxing, eating, drinking and socializing. Here are a few pictures from our fun filled week.
